Al-Fatihah · الفاتحة

Authentic

The greatest surah in the Quran — Umm al-Quran, recited in every unit of every prayer.

Best time to read: In every prayer, daily

Al-Baqarah · البقرة

Authentic

Shaytan flees from a house in which Surah al-Baqarah is recited.

Best time to read: Regularly, at home

Last two verses of Al-Baqarah · خواتيم سورة البقرة

Authentic

Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him.

Authentic

The two bright surahs — they will come as shade for their reciter on the Day of Resurrection.

Authentic

Reciting it on Friday brings light between the two Fridays; its first ten verses are a protection against the Dajjal.

Al-Mulk · الملك

Good

A surah of thirty verses that intercedes for its reciter until he is forgiven — the preventer from the punishment of the grave.

Best time to read: Every night, before sleep

As-Sajdah · السجدة

Good

The Prophet ﷺ would not sleep until he recited Surah as-Sajdah and Surah al-Mulk.

Al-Ikhlas · الإخلاص

Authentic

Equivalent to one third of the Quran; reciting it three times equals reciting the whole Quran.

The two surahs of refuge — none has sought protection with anything like them; recited morning, evening, and before sleep.

Al-Kafirun · الكافرون

Good

A declaration of freedom from shirk; the Prophet ﷺ advised reciting it before sleep.

Weak

Popularly called "the heart of the Quran," with a report to recite it over the dying — but these narrations have weak chains.

Al-Waqiʿah · الواقعة

Weak

Famously recited every night as a protection from poverty — but the narration is weak.

Ad-Dukhan · الدخان

Weak

Reports that reciting it at night brings forgiveness by morning are weak.

Weak

Called "the beauty of the Quran" in a narration that is very weak.
